"Through the grace of the sacrament of marriage, parents receive the responsibility and privelege of evangelising their children. Parents should initiate their children at an early age into the mysteries of the faith of which they are the 'first heralds' for their children.... A wholesome family life can foster interior dispositions that are a genuine preparation for a living faith and remain a support for it throughout one's life."
- Catechsim of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2225 -
Grades 1-5 Faith Formation Program:
We have some big changes this year! We will be moving away from a "drop-off model" and towards a "family formation model." Instead of weekly classes, there will be one in-person session each month. At those sessions, there will be three main portions of the evening:
1. Families gather in the Church for prayer
2. Parents and children split for lessons. The topic for each lesson will be the same across the board, but given at the appropriate grade level.
3. Parent discussion about the next weeks' lessons.
During the weeks without a family session, lessons will be given in the home by the parents. ALL LESSON MATERIALS AND CONTENT WILL BE PROVIDED.
Catholic Prayers and Practices: As part of the curriculum, each grade level focuses on learning Catholic prayers and practices as appropriate to the child's development.
