"Here I am Lord, Send Me" Isaiah 6:8
We are very grateful to you for the gifts you will be sharing as a volunteer minister within our parish community. It is through your gift of service that we carry out the mission of the Church, to be the living presence of Jesus to each other. We are called to share the gifts we are given, because we each have a unique role in carrying out God’s plan. We offer our gifts to build and bring the Body of Christ to its fullest, here at St. Vincent de Paul.
Safe Environment Policy and Requirements for Volunteer Ministers
If your area of ministry serves children, youth, or vulnerable adults, we are committed to providing a safe environment for all involved. All persons in positions of trust in regard to minors and vulnerable adults will fulfill the Essential 3 requirements (E3). The E3 includes a 1) Code of Conduct, 2) safe environment training (VIRTUS) and 3) background checks, with re-credentialing required every three years. These are mandated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for volunteers and staff alike to help protect children and vulnerable adults entrusted to our care, as well as protecting the volunteer minister.
To pre-register for a VIRTUS session, complete an online background check, and read and sign the online Code of Conduct, please visit the VIRTUS website at www.virtusonline.org. It is very important that you pre-register for a VIRTUS session to make sure your attendance is recorded.
Thank you for sharing your gifts with our parish, school, and Church as we all strive to build God’s Kingdom here at St. Vincent de Paul.
“Now you are the Body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
